Yosemite
September, 2005

We had a very fun camping trip with my sister Stacy, my niece Sandy, and their two dogs, Bella and Rudy.

Wildlife

When you camp at Yosemite, you have to be prepared to share the campground with the wildlife. Yes, even BEARS. We did a lot of banging on pots and pans during dinner time to scare them back into the forest. They were awfully cute though, and so were the squirrels.

Happy Campers

On the second day of our vacation, we decided to hike to Vernal Fall. This is a strenuous 3-mile hike that is mostly uphill. When you get near to the top of the mountain, the trail becomes so steep that it was necessary for the park to cut 600 stairs into the rock to allow hikers to reach the top of the fall. It was a difficult hike for me, so I was very proud of myself for making it to the top. The following pictures were all taken along that hike.

Our trip was a short one, so we didn't get any other day hikes in. The rest of the time we lounged around, took walks near the river, and did a little swimming. Oh, and as always when our family goes camping, we ate really well. These are the rest of the pictures.
